The team at the Earth Build Project were very excited to take delivery of our large-scale ABB robot in July 2025 This represented a giant step forward in our journey towards 3D-printing with earth at scale. Sited at our newly-established outdoor research facility near Stamford, Lincolnshire, the robot was rescued from a motor industry assembly line, and will be the primary workhorse for our research in the coming months and years.
Setting up the site has enabled us to 3D print the test samples we need for analysis at Cardiff University’s Duralab, as well as allowing us to build and monitor wall sections These are all critical steps on the pathway to full-scale building construction in the coming months.
