Earth Build Project – Summer Print 2025 – Week 6

Founder, Gayle Parsons, sums up the Summer Print week by week.

Week 6

The main challenge this week was the Teach Pendant. Having already had to replace the touch screen once, we had another touch-screen breakdown early in the week which meant driving over to Global Robots for them to investigate.  Diagnostics revealed no faults but the screen had to be replaced again, and we lost another morning of printing time.  Then the same thing happened the very next day! This time we were offered another Teach Pendant to replace the faulty one, which was such a relief, and we were finally able to get ahead with printing, whilst dodging the rain showers.

We had volunteers Daniel, Danila and Basama on site with us, which was super helpful.  Basama’s last day on Friday was quite sad, she had worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks and we wished her well in her future endeavours working with children.

We had our most productive day so far this week – 15 prints – which we were very pleased with.  Adam’s help getting the pump working to its full capacity was absolutely vital to this success.  And Megan has us all organised and raring to go each day.
