One of the biggest achievements of Summer 2025 was the printing of our first small wall build-up during the very last days of the summer print programme, achieved with the perseverance and dedication of the whole Earth Build Project team, but particularly Megan McGrattan who co-designed it with the help of Nestor Beguin from IAAC.
We are so proud to have been able to successfully print this after only 11 weeks of working with the robot, and we are excited for the Spring of 2026 when we’ll be able to dedicate 6 months of time to printing on-site.
FAQ’s
What goes into the mix?
Soil make-up is different in every location, so we’ll always need to alter the ratios of clay-sand-silt to balance the mix, but ideally we need a 15-20% clay content.
We are experimenting with different fibres including hemp shiv, cellulose (warmcel) and straw, and produced over 200 samples for testing in the lab over the summer of 2025. These results will inform our next testing phase when we’ll be experimenting with other bio-materials such as Xanthum Gum, Tannin, Chitosan, Lignin, Sodium Alginate and more, looking for properties that enhance performance as a building material.
Where are you based?
Our outdoor research facility is on a farm in a village just outside Stamford in Lincolnshire. We hope to be able to host open days in due course, for members of the community and general public to see the robot in action.
How can I get involved?
We are keen to involve young people between the ages of 16-24, who might be interested in our work and could commit to a few days as volunteers or for work experience. We’re a very friendly bunch!
How can I help financially?
We warmly welcome donations of any size which can be made either directly through our website ‘click here’ or contact the Founder, Gayle Parsons here.
Investors can see our pitch deck here. It offers a summary of the market opportunity with a convincing argument for supporting our work.
